TLC SA, based in Eysins, Switzerland, is looking for a Shipping Coordinator in order to strengthen its team based at the Group’s Head-Quarters.
What You Will Do
• Day to day operational follow-up of vessels under TLC Agency – including tankers, dry bulk/multipurpose carriers, offshore support vessels.
• In direct contact with Masters and vessel operators concerning the operations of the vessels.
• Manage commercial follow up of our existing customers as well as prospects
• Preparing PFDAs, Following-up on the operations, Checking shipping documents, invoicing the files.
• Ensure rules and regulations are followed in ports and report any modification with potential impact on operations.
• Manage and negotiate all operational and commercial claims related to the port calls.
Accountabilities
• Shipping Coordinators ensure a close follow-up of the operations as well as the financial aspects of the calls.
• Shipping Coordinators are the focal point of contact with ship owners/charterers to ensure a smooth turnaround in the port.
• Shipping Operations are in contact with the vessel managers and large variety of interlocutors worldwide while staying in close relationship with TLC’s local teams. The jobholder is therefore the key interface between above mentioned teams and departments.
Context and environment
• Interact with a lot of internal and external stakeholders and be the main interface between ship-owners and Operations.
• Work in a commercial environment with different nationalities and cultures
• Shipping operations can be part of critical logistical chains which can require 24/7 responsiveness of the involved coordinator.
• The position requires flexibility of mind and being quick in bringing the advice and technical support, as decisions of maritime operations need to be taken promptly.
• Work in a challenging and evolving environment requiring strong adaptation and pro activity
Candidate profile
• You have shipping knowledge from past experience or from your studies, and understand the key commercial & technical aspects of shipping.
• You have minimum of 2 years of professional experience in one of these relevant fields/functions
• You are capable to understand and manipulate technical subjects in day to day
• You can easily read/understand commercial/technical documents (vessel’s Q88, Bill of Lading, Cargo Manifests etc…)
• You can manage a lot of information and prioritize tasks in a moving 24/7 environment
• Capable to well manage under pressure and to adapt to business
• You have a good sense of prioritization with capability to anticipate issues and provide solutions
• Autonomous, rigorous, business oriented, good relationship, well organized and pro active
• Fluent in French & English (written and spoken)
